Built By Signal LLC ("SIGNAL", "we", "us", or "our") operates BuiltBySignal.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the Site, how we use it, and the choices you have. This is a corporate presence site, and we keep data collection to a minimum.
By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you use the contact form, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide, along with the date and time of your submission. Providing this information is voluntary, but we need it to respond to you.
Technology Signal Scan requests. When you request a Technology Signal Scan, we collect the business and contact details you enter on that form — your name, work email, role, company, website, industry, employee and revenue ranges, approximate technology spend, timing, and what you tell us about your situation, along with your consent and the date and time of submission. We use it only to evaluate the request and respond with a recommended next step. It is not used for marketing, and we do not add you to a mailing list from this form.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs standard technical information — such as your IP address, browser and device type, referring pages, and the pages you request — for security, reliability, and diagnostic purposes.
Administrative access. The Site includes a private administration area protected by Google sign-in. This is used only by authorized SIGNAL administrators to manage site content and messages; it is not available to, or used to identify, general visitors.
We do not require visitors to create accounts, we do not collect payment information through this Site, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
— respond to your inquiry and communicate with you;
— evaluate potential partnerships, ventures, and collaboration;
— operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site;
— and comply with legal obligations or enforce our terms.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent personal information.
Cookies and tracking
This Site uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google, to understand how visitors find and use the Site. Google Analytics sets cookies or similar identifiers and collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, referring source, and general device and browser characteristics. We use this only in aggregate to improve the Site, and we do not use it to build advertising audiences. You can opt out using Google's browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.
Apart from analytics, the Site does not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Other cookies or similar technologies are limited to those strictly necessary for hosting, security, and the administration area.
How we share information
Service providers. We use Google Firebase (Firebase Hosting and Cloud Firestore) to host the Site and store contact and Signal Scan submissions. Google processes this data on our behalf, and its handling is subject to Google's own privacy terms.
Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, or where we believe it is reasonably necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property, or that of others.
Business transfers. If SIGNAL is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not otherwise share your personal information with third parties.
How long we keep information
We retain contact and Signal Scan submissions for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and to manage any resulting relationship, and then delete or anonymize them, unless a longer retention period is required by law. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and operational purposes.
How we protect information
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures — including access controls and encryption of data in transit — to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the contact information you have sent us, and you may ask us to stop contacting you, at any time. To make a request, email hello@builtbysignal.com or use our contact page. We will respond within a reasonable time, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising these choices. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law; we honor valid requests to the extent required.
Children's privacy
The Site is intended for a business audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
International visitors
SIGNAL operates in the United States, and the Site is hosted and administered there. If you access the Site from outside the United States, you understand that the information you submit will be processed in the United States.
Third-party links
The Site may link to third-party websites, including the ventures we build. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page, and your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
